Life With Oreo

Life with Oreo!

It is what helps ease the heartache of life without Thai.

DSCN1456

Each day I watch Piper interact with the cats (of course, now it’s just Oreo), my heart melts.  Since I did not grow up with any pets, I am so glad she has the opportunity to be surrounded by such amazing creatures.  Even at two, she realizes what a joy they are and shows them respect, appreciation and love beyond what I could ever have imagined a toddler capable of giving.

Of course, it helps when you have a cat like Oreo, who is so complacent throughout her endless torture.  In fact, he often seeks her out for his daily abuse.  Piper has a tendency to teat him as her personal furniture. This was Oreo being her pillow, for a three hour nap!

How freaking cute is that!?!

Oh, what a good kitty! And that picture is adorable.

By the way, I just love her name. I wanted to name my daughter Piper too, but my husband wasn't for it cuz he thought I only liked it because of the show Charmed. To which I said SO WHAT? and totally ruined all chances of getting my dream name. Darn it.

Awwww! I have one that thinks of himself as the "protector". He is constantly nearby the girls, especially the Peanut (as he was with the Princess when she was that age). He lays at the thresholds of their rooms as they get ready for bed, or get up in the morning. He never hisses, growls or in any way shows anger toward the constant torture of a toddler. If she becomes too much, he may move to higher ground, but never completely leaves the room.

My female cat is a bit older, and anti-social. She's never forgiven me for bringing the screeching children into her house in the first place. She pretty much stays as far away from them as she can. LOL!

I have always been a dog person, but that picture is so cute I can feel myself changing my mind about animals of the feline persuasion.

What an adorable picture. I wish my cat was cuddly like that more often. She has her moments, but not enough of them!!!!

Yup, that's pretty freakin' cute. Sadly I have bad animal allegies and so my daughter will only ever know fish as pets.

Awwww! Kids are pets are a great combo. It's so great for teaching kindness and empathy. We adopted a dog from the shelter last summer, and are going back for 2 cats next week. I heart animals!

thats a really cute picture.

my daughter is scared to death of animals being close to her. she loves pictures of them and seeing them from a distance. But if she was that close to a cat as your daughter is, she'd scream and run away
